• Notes

  Harry's wife Mercy is said to be a widow in the censuses of 1881 and 1891. The last record of Harry seems to be 22 Jan 1874 when he is recorded as taking a number of his children out of the workhouse at Poplar. No death for him appears in the index before 1881. However, a Harry Wilson, occupation commercial clerk, died (aged 54) at Newington workhouse on 14 Apr 1892. This person (Henry Wilson) is at the St Saviour's Union Workhouse Infirmary, Camberwell in 1891 (age 52, married, stockbroker's clerk, b Leadenhall, EC).
