      FILE - Depositions - ref. BROG/1/4/3/3/11 - date: 14 May 1842 Prosecutor: John Norton, co-owner with Thomas Norton of a linen drapers' shop on the High Street. Witnesses: John Norton Burchmore, apprentice to Messrs Norton and Nephew; Matthew Harvey, assistant to Norton and Nephew; Thomas Luddington, police constable. Accused: Rebecca, the wife of William Read of Metheringham, labourer. Crime: stealing 9 1/2 yards of printed calico in the parish of St Peter at Arches, Lincoln.
    • On Nov 11 1873, after the death of his widow Anne, the Court ordered the seven children be placed in the guardianship of their cousin Charles Norton. At this time his brother Thomas had not been heard from for seven years, and his brother William not for eleven years.
