Looking for information about a Charles Burchmore who was a friend of Sir Ernest Shackleton and my grandfather, Ludlow Richard Oswald-Sealy. Charles Burchmore owned the Steyne Hotel, Manly, New South Wales, Australia in 1916 and 1917. I have letters and cablegrams between him and Shackleton at the end of 1916 and early 1917 after Shackleton returned from the Antarctica after the trip on the Endurance. He gave Shackleton money to help bring the Ross Sea Party home on board the Aurora. I know nothing else about him
