The Rev William Auld was a minister of the Relief Church (Presbyterian) in Burnhead Dumfrieshire for 8 years, after which he was called to Sir Michael Street Church in Greenock as its first minister on Nov 17«sup»th«/sup» 1808. After Margaret Maxwell died in 1825, he was twice married, first to Jean Tarbet, and then to Mary Easton.
