Notes - He served in the Palestine campaign with the South African Field Artillery in World War I. He enlisted at Potchefstroom on January 29, 1917, and was discharged August 28 1919. The SA Field Artillery was part of the South African Overseas Expeditionary Force, formed from volunteers in 1915. Reinforcements, including artillery were sent to General Allenby in Palestine in 1917.
His working life was spent working for the railways.
