    • Proposed as the mother of Lijsbeth Sanders van de Caep by Mansell Upham but not confirmed.

      Enslaved by the French at Madagascar, three Malagasy Royal children were presented to Governor van Riebeck's by their captors, the French Fleet under Admiral Gilles de La Roche-Saint-André in 1656. Visiting VoC commissioner Rycklof van Goens revoked the transaction and the three children became the property of the Company. Lijsbeth was loaned out to Hendrick Hendricksz Boom, and subsequently in 1665 to Wouter Mostert

      According to the first permanent minister at the Cape, the Rev. Joan van Arckel, who attempted to record the names of those baptised at the Cape by visiting ministers before his arrival, Cornelia and Lijsbeth Arabus were the first slaves to be baptised at the Cape
