  PRIVATE Lived in Alloa until 1902 although not with the family group in the 1901 Scotland census then taught at the Huguenot Seminary in Wellington, Cape, from July 1902. Source: Letter from Bess to her brother, George, dated 15 July 1902 18 July 1912 GBT notes a card from Bessie "Wire her asking to whom & Hurrah"- Her engaement announcement? 25 July 1912 GBT wrote: "Get post and learn that Bessie is to marry a Mr Davies B.Sc. V[ice] Principal of Training Col[lege], Wellington." 1914_07_06 Entry in Diary of GBT ..."hear of Bessie having had eclampsia & child still born & breech presentation..." 1936 June 18th: Entry in Diary of GB Receive telegram from Arthur Davies telling of probability of Bessie's having cancer. Hear at night that tumour of stomach diagnosed and to be X-rayed on Monday.
