Notes - He was banished to Robben Island in April 1788 and released 18 March 1790, for hi part in the raid by his father and uncle Jan Wiese to Namaqualand in 1786, (see notes for his father Adriaan) in which a number of Khoikhoi were murdered and cattle stolen from them. While he was away on Robben Island, his younger brother Andries seduced his wife Margaretha Johanna van Schalkwyk and eventually married her in 1793 and had seven children with her. Andries, Petrus and Margaretha were first cousins
