During World War I my father enlisted (at age 15 years) in the Royal Naval Flying Squadron and fought in Archangel in Russia.

Served in WW 1 as an Airframe Rigger in the Royal Flying Corps, including a stint in Russia.
Migrated as a soldier-settler to Australia around 1919 after the war, clearing land at Redcliffs, North-West Victoria.
Came to Adelaide early 1920s, worked in the building industry briefly before entering the motor tyre industry with a Goodyear tyre distributor until the South Australian Head Office was established. He was with that company for 27 years until his death in 1957.

Embarked the "Marathon" in London for Melbourne (Australia) on 30 April. 1920 age 20 giving his occupation as "farm hand".
He migrated after the war and would have gone from Melbourne to Redcliffs to the new soldier-settler blocks which opened in 1919. Redcliffs is close to the River Murray, which divides Victoria from New South Wales. He came to Adelaide after that.
