- Percy appeared on the genealogy list that I got from my father, Andrew Thompson, but I could find no other record of him until a fellow genealogist in New Zealand found a record of the family on board a ship between Australia and New Zealand in 1900.
This lists the family with a child "Gray, W H P, Master, 5 ".
With this information I was able to search the Statutory Birth Records of Scotland and found his birth in Lochwinnoch which gave his full name.
He may have been a sickly baby as his birth was only registered on 26th April, although he was born on the 7th, almost 3 weeks before.
