  PRIVATE Baptism Record for John Lundie in the Old Parish Records reads " «i»May 27 [1783] John son to James Lundie, miller at Horley Mill was baptised." «/i»This is strange for Rescobie, his birth, place is 10 miles away, east of Forfar, and there is a church at Rescobie.«i» «/i»There is a monument erected in the Abbey of Arbroath to «b»James Lundie«/b» [b 1749 d 19.03.1831], and «b»Jane Mudie Lundie«/b» [b 1753 d 04.09.1832] parents of David and Alexander Lundie,. There is also an inscription to «b»John Lundie«/b», teacher [d 02.09.1850]. Source: Lundie Family Tree. received from Ian Thompson The «b»1841 Scottish Census«/b» gives John Lundie's birth date as 1786. In 1841 John Lundie was a 55-year old "schoolmaster" living at Maule Street, Arbroath Inverbrothock . Still at home are "Hellen", James, and Margaret, Ann, Alexander, and George,. John's son William Hannah was 19 years old, but he is not with the family group but may have been the weaver living at Fergus Square. Neither of John's children, Jessie nor David, have been found in 1841. [The death certificate of his son, James Lundie in 1868, gave his father, John's occupation as "weaver". However the death certificate of his son, William Hannah Lundie in 1900 gave his father's occupation as "teacher".] The newly released ledgers of burials for Arbroath record the Funeral of John Lundie, Teacher, St Vigeans, on 22 July 1850 and the description of where [in Arbroath Abbey presumably] he is buried reads, " Row 16, 2 feet south from David Lundie [St?
