There is a birth recorded for a David Lundie in 1819, in St Vigeans, but the parents are given as «b»JAMES LUNDIE «/b»and «b»JANET WALKER «/b» not Mills, so it is not clear if this is an error or a different person altogether.
There is also a record of a 20-year old Linen Hand Loom Weaver by the name of David Lundie in the «b»1841 Scotland Census«/b» for Arbroath. This person is living with his wife, a Helen Nicol and their 1-year old son, James. Again I cannot be sure that this is our David or someone else, at this point.
I have not found a death notice for a David Lundie of Arbroath, but deaths were not required to be registered until 1855 so it is possible that he died between 1841 and 1855 and there would be no record of the drowning.
