  Although John was born in 1900, he served in the 1914 - 18 war with the Northumberland Fusiliers, it is intended to research this further through the N.F. museum in Alnwick. John s birth time (from birth certificate) is given as 10.10 PM at Excelsior Buildings Hexham, his father s occupation at the time, Railway Porter.
