• Notes

  PRIVATE [TOMCLEM.ged] Mary was living at Prudhoe, at the time of the 1881 census, later she left for the USA, with her son John, and his family, and sent a book to each of her grandchildren, John Thomas Ward and George William Ward, from St Joseph, Missouri, dated 22 Sept 1885. We know that Mary could not write, so the inscription had been filled in for her. Contact has been made with descendants of Mary's son John, and as a result, the American information has been obtained.
