- Meredith was adopted by her stepfather and thus became a CLOETE according to Tom Tyrrel her son in law. But Granny Loo says she was not officially adopted so remained a Clemitson
In 1951 she married Stephen Johnson in Lusaka Zambia and lived in Lusaka. They had 4 children being Stephen Robert [Rob], Deborah, Susan and Judith. The family subsequently moved to Harare [Salisbury], Zimbabwe.
Deborah was the first of the children to move to Australia where she settled in Adelaide in 1980. Stephen [Meredith's husband] died in 1984 in Zimbabwe and so Meredith also migrated to Adelaide, Australia in 1991. At different times, Rob and Judy, 2 of her other children also settled in Adelaide with Susan moving to Port Elizabeth, Sth Africa.
Meredith died in Adelaide, Australia in 2010 leaving new generations of the family now growing up in Australia. Deborah was living in Melbourne Australia in 2013.
