  PRIVATE In 1730, Johannes was already living at Swartrivier, over the Caledon Mountains He is listed in the 1731 report of Governor de la Fonteine with his wife and six children, with the remark "«i»Heeft wat Vee en is Arm«/i»" (Has some cattle and is poor) In the Cape Muster roll for 1733 he is listed together with his wife in the Stellenbosch district "«i»Jan Swart & Zacharia Niemand«/i»"
