    • Pieter Jansz Swanepoel was an early settler in the Land van Waveren (Tulbagh). He was given permission on 17 September 1709 to graze across the Breede river. In 1715 he took part in a commando to recover cattle from the Khoikhoi. Pieter and Joost Bevernagie followed the Khoikhoi. Pieter was injured in the upper leg and and Lammert Lammerts van Oldenseel was wounded in the stomach and later died of his wounds.

Pieter obtained a loan farm in the Land van Waveren in 1716, "Niuwe Münster".
