Notes - She married the neighbour of her father, Willem Willemz. He and his father in law would often go hunting together. On 27 April 1672 he returned to his farm to find that a Hottentot had broken a utensil. He fetched his gun, which according to his testimony was loaded only with buckshot. His intention was only to frighten the Hottentot. From a distance of 63 paces, he fired on the Hottentot - the second shot killed him. On the advice of family and friends he fled the Cape on the Danish ship "«i»Malagos«/i»" on May 4, 1672. He returned in 1673 but was not allowed to land and was sent to Robben Island to await a decision by the Here XVII. In September 1675 he was allowed to return to the mainland to face trial. He found that by this time his wife had two children (Dina and Cornelis) by his «i»kneg«/i» Ockert Olivier.
He charged her with licentious behaviour. The case raised so much bad feeling between them that in 1676 they were banished to Batavia on two separate ships. Before they left they were reconciled and ended up travelling on the same ship. The children were left in the care of their grandfather with their biological father Ockert Olivier responsible for their upkeep.
In May 1677 they returned from Batavia, but the Hottentots raised such a fuss about this that on 14 July 1677 the council decided to banish their entire family to Mauritius. Before October 1686, Willem died, and his widow remarried Leendert Simonz Stam - she returned to the Cape with him and with her children.
