    • from Blois in France. He was one of six former members of the Mer congregation to renounce Catholicism in Delft on June 25, 1687. He left Delftshaven, Netherlands on 31 Dec 1687 in the «i»Voorschoten«/i» and arrived in 1688. He was a wagonmaker. In 1690 he married Esther de Ruelle. He married again in Stellenbosch on 19 Debruary 1702 to Susanna du Puy of Amsterdam, daughter of Jean du Puy and Anna Martin. In 1694 the farm «i»Rust en Werk«/i» in Dal Josaphat (today Wellington) was granted to him, and in 1712 «i»De Veerkeyker«/i» in 't Land van Waveren, south of Slangenhoek (district of Worcester).
