1861«/b» The baptismal certificate of son Edward gives his occupation as "dockyard labourer" and their address as Love Lane.
«b»1862 «/b»On the«b» «/b»marriage certificate of daughter Sarah Rose her father's occupation is given as Clerk in Dockyard - this appears to be a mystery as we are not sure if this Sarah Rose is actually his daughter.
«b»1881«/b» The death certificate of his mother, Margaret, gives address as Boley Hill. However when the census was taken, William at 66 years of age, was living with his daughter Phoeby and son-in-law, Joseph F Shaw at 2 Cavour Cottages in Gilingham. In this census his name is incorrectly transcribed as William Ladbuary.
«b»1891«/b» Census gives his address as the boat house of Ladbury Cottage, which at this time was very dilapidated. His wife, Pheby, was at this time in the county Asylum: See the article "Poor Phoeby" by Barbara Balfe
